FAQ

Why is it called EAGLE Cohousing?

EAGLE stands for Efficient And Generous Living Environment because it summarizes the shared goals of the neighborhood.

What is cohousing?

Cohousing balances the traditional advantages of home ownership (you own your own individual home) with the benefits of shared common facilities and ongoing connections with your neighbors. It attempts to overcome the alienation of modern subdivisions in which nobody knows their neighbors.

Will I have my own bedroom/kitchen/yard/bathroom?

YES! Everyone lives in their own individual house, just like a regular neighborhood. The houses in the neighborhood are 1950s bungalows, around 800-1200 sq feet placed on .25 acre lots. They typically are 3 bed, 1 bath but it will be your house and you can renovate it or expand it to suit your needs.

Can I "Air BnB" or otherwise short-term rent the property?

If you would like to "try out" living in the community on a short term basis you can schedule a tour or spend a few days in town.

If you are a resident of one of the houses, we are not encouraging you to short-term rent your house out at this time. We hope people will make this their home and dig deep into the community-building aspect, rather than see it as a business or as part of a rental property empire.

What is the Common House?

The Common House is not yet built but will be the centerpiece of our community. We are currently in the design phase and are soliciting opinions from members! We have discussed adding the following features:

What is the Cost?

Home prices in Warner Robins trend at 21% less than the national average. Your home at EAGLE Cohousing can be financed through banks like any other home purchase. As of 2024, the homes in the neighborhood range in value from around $90,000-$120,000 depending on size and condition.
